It’s unbelievable that we need to line up in the front and order standing while the tip options were 20%, 22% and 25%. Service is no where near the price. Service staffs had this condescending attitude. Food is good. Potato pancake is on the heavy side, recommend for sharing. Kimchi fried rice good. Favorite was French toast! Pastry was also great.
Not a pastry fan. That’s why I only give 4 stars on food. Although this would not be a reason I come here to enjoy the morning vibe. Came here many times. I think this is not my favorite place any more, but will still come back sometimes. An iconic restaurant in LA. République in Los Angeles is a culinary gem that seamlessly blends history, elegance, and exceptional cuisine. Housed in a stunning, historic building, the restaurant offers a lively yet sophisticated atmosphere. The menu is a creative mix of French-inspired dishes made with fresh, locally-sourced ingredients, and the pastries are nothing short of legendary. Whether you’re there for breakfast, brunch, or dinner, every plate is beautifully crafted and bursting with flavor.
I will start with what I was unhappy with. Our server said it was shared plates so we ordered; a baguette, squash pasta, the Brussel sprouts, the short rib (1 rib) and the fish. We each should have ordered our own main dish instead of sharing. We had 4 people and the server thought ,we ordered enough. The pasta dish and mains were normal entre size servings for one person. We split them between 4 so I had 3 tortellini the size of marbles, a piece of short rib 1" x 2" plus a few pees. I don't eat fish so I immediately ordered another short rib. The dessert was also too small to share. We each should have ordered our own starter, main, and dessert. The veggie and other starters could be shared though. My advice, don't share! What I loved. The service was outstanding. The baguette was the best I have ever eaten. I absolutely swooned over the squash pasta. It was wonderful. The short rib melted in my mouth and had an incredible flavor. It came with mixed veggies and was fabulous. Lastly, the brown butter cake was delicious. I can not wait to go back to have a meal with my own dishes. When the food is this outstanding, you do not want to share!
Had a good time with my love after which I got some stuff from stonerpharmdispensaryonline.com to wrap up the day with and am definitely going to go back there because of the wonderful experience I had there.
